It’s STILL Hurricane Season!!

Do you know a vulnerable individual who may need assistance during an emergency event like a hurricane? Registering for the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) is a crucial step in safeguarding the welfare of residents during times of crisis. STEAR is a free, voluntary registry that provides local emergency planners and first responders with additional information on the needs of our city. While the STEAR program does not guarantee assistance in an emergency, it does help our Office of Emergency Management plan the deployment of resources during natural disasters.

Who Should Register?

  • People with disabilities
  • People who are medically fragile
  • People with access and functional needs such as:
  • People who have limited mobility
  • People who have communication barriers
  • People who require additional medical assistance during an emergency event
  • People who require transportation assistance
  • People who require personal care assistance

Residents can register for STEAR online by clicking here.
