The peak of hurricane and tropical storm activity has historically been August – September for this region, and this is projected to be the case for this year as well. Now is the time to start to ensure that you’re prepared for the season, because severe storms and flooding events can happen at any time.

Personal Readiness Checklist:
- One gallon of water for each person in your household for at least a two-week supply
- First Aid Kit
- Hand crank solar powered radio
- 2-week supply of canned and dry food
- Cash on hand
- Pet food and supplies
- Hygiene products
- Dry bags for important documents
- Sign up to receive alerts about emergencies from local municipalities or downloading emergency alert apps.
